MAY 20 - 22, 2010
This is theatre in its rawest form -- caught in the act of being created.
Staged readings of new plays and works-in-progress, presented by some of Winnipeg’s most talented professional actors, take you into the words as you’ve never been before. Some are new, never-been-heard before, and others are steps away from the big finish. You never know what you’ll see – but you’ll see it before anyone else!
Then join the playwright in a Q & A after the reading -- your comments can help guide the next stage of development!

PANEL DISCUSSION: When Good Plays Go Bad
Saturday, May 22 at 5:30 pm (PTE SAAN Studio)
Panel: Bill Kerr, Ann Hodges, Ellen Peterson
The reading was great, the workshop was so productive, so what happened? Every now and then, a final production of a script just doesn't live up to the promise of the reading. Is there something that makes a play work as a reading that undermines the staging of the play? Are we failing our playwrights by drawing out the development process? How can we all, as actors, directors, dramaturges and audiences support the process? Join leading members of Winnipeg's theatre community as we wrestle these tough questions to the ground.
