Our Work
Prairie Theatre Exchange has been privileged to receive the support of our community not only through ticket purchases, but through financial gifts and sponsorships as well.

There are many ways in which individuals and businesses can help PTE continue our work of performing relevant, engaging theatre and teaching expression and self-awareness through drama.

Individual Gifts - In addition to an income tax receipt for the full amount of the gift, donors to PTE become members of The Friends of Prairie Theatre Exchange and receive a variety of benefits designed to bring them closer to the magic behind the scenes.

Corporate Gifts - Through a monetary gift, businesses can support and help grow one of the jewels in the cultural crown that attracts tourism and business to the downtown of Winnipeg.

Sponsorships - A marketing opportunity for businesses that can include logo exposure, entertaining opportunities and direct access to an attractive demographic. Sponsorships range from $1,000 for a Performance Sponsorship to $30,000 for the Season Sponsorship. Other options include: Ticket Sponsor - $3,000, High School Matinee Sponsor - $5,000, School Performance Sponsor - $5,000 and Production Sponsor - $12,000.

Endowments - The Prairie Theatre Exchange Foundation Trust was established in 1987 to provide ongoing financial support to PTE. The capital in the Trust is retained and invested, and the income is used to support the PTE School, development of new plays, or specific projects, such as PTE's Theatre for Young Audiences Tour, which could not be undertaken without additional support. Gifts to the Foundation Trust will be kept in perpetuity, and are an investment in the future of PTE.

Seat Sale - A gift of $500 or more, directed anywhere °V operations, School or the Foundation Trust - will earn the honour of a name plate on one of the few dozen seats in the Mainstage Theatre that were not named as part of our Capital Campaign for our new Portage Place facility, more than ten years ago.

You Should Know:

  • Gifts can be given in a lump sum by cheque, cash or credit card, or can be made in installments by postdated cheques or pre-authorized charges to a credit card.
  • Donations can be made in person at PTE's location on the 3rd Floor Portage Place, by mail to Unit Y300, 393 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg, Manitoba R3B 3H6, by fax at (204) 942-1774 or by phone at (204) 925-5256 or (204) 925-5257.
  • PTE can direct your gift as you request, to the Theatre in general, to New Play Development, to the School or to the Foundation Trust
  • The Foundation Trust has two funds named for individuals who had a huge, personal impact on PTE: The Donald Fenwick Fund (a former President of the Board) and the Raye Anderson Bursary Fund (the former Director of Education for 20 years).
