2022 Company in Residence

Call for Submissions

Prairie Theatre Exchange is a contemporary theatre company located on Treaty 1 Territory in Winnipeg, Manitoba, the traditional territory of the Anishinaabeg, Cree, Dakota and Métis Nations, and the home of many other Indigenous nations and peoples. PTE is a committed partner of Winnipeg’s Indigenous Accord, and, as a part of our journey to reconciliation, we are dedicated to bringing Indigenous stories and voices to the PTE stage every season. The plays we produce and the work we do are an expression of our priorities. The way we create and present these plays exemplifies the ethics, philosophy and guiding principles of the company. Prairie Theatre Exchange is delighted to be welcoming a new Company in Residence!

This free-form, process-driven residency program will offer a new, independent, or ad hoc company a home for their current artistic project. This opportunity allows companies to have autonomy over the residency, execute artistic goals, work on an artistic project at any stage of development, while accessing the PTE team for guidance and/or mentorship. PTE will provide the company in residence with financial support of $5,000.00.

For this residency we will be prioritizing applications from companies within the IBPOC, 2SLGBTQ+, and disabled communities.

Company in Residence Support: $5,000.00

Submission Instructions
To submit, please send a letter of interest that outlines who you are as a company, what you’re working on and what your goals are, to Haley Vincent, Artistic and Operations Coordinator at haley@pte.mb.ca. You may also submit support material (video, photographic, written etc.) and reference letters. We invite all applicants to reach out before the submission deadline for an informal chat if they have any questions about the residency program. These meetings will be held online via zoom, with Thomas Morgan Jones, Lisa Li and Haley Vincent present.
