Volunteer for PTE!

Support the work that PTE does by volunteering at performances and behind the scenes.

Volunteers are the wind beneath our wings! It would literally be impossible to run a performance without them.

For each performance in a run, PTE relies on up to 12 volunteers in 7 different roles. Generally, the shifts range from about 90 minutes to three hours.

Audience Awareness & Safety

This is an extremely important role – sitting in a designated seat in the theatre, you are the eyes and ears of the Front of House Supervisor during the show, keeping an eye out for any disruptions or distress among the audience. The two people in this role are also there to assist the Front of House Supervisor in the event of an evacuation due to a fire alarm going off during the performance (training is provided).

Shift: 6:15 or 12:45 start time, end time will vary according to the run-time of the show (80 minutes to two hours).

Note: you may be asked to take on a secondary role before you take your seats when the show begins.

We also occasionally need volunteers during weekdays to help with mailings.

We offer:

  • Orientation & training
  • Comprehensive Volunteer Handbook
  • Guidance onsite by the Front of House Supervisor
  • A pair of complimentary tickets to the play for which you volunteer
  • Complimentary parking for the performance for which you volunteer
  • Complimentary non-alcoholic beverage while you volunteer
  • A Volunteer Appreciation Event at the end of the season
