For Artists

At PTE, our goal is to be a home for artists. This happens in one of four ways:  working on projects here at the theatre; engaging in residencies; training through our professional development programs; and engaging with our artistic leadership and staff. It is our philosophy that in addition to employing artists, we can also have an open door (or email/phone) policy as a resource to artists. Ann Hodges (our AD) is open to receiving emails at any time and will respond as soon as we are able.

FOR DIRECTORS AND DESIGNERS

If you would like to begin a conversation or introduce yourself to the theatre, please email Ann.

NEW - The PTE Directors Unit

Led by Artistic Director Ann Hodges and supported by other guest artists, a small cohort will follow a creative journey tailored to the interests and needs of the group. Activities may include discussions on artistic leadership, collaboration, script interpretation and preparation, observing rehearsals and technical work, skill-building in technical theatre knowledge, and small independently-selected directing exercises. The unit may also collaborate at times with members of the PTE/MAP Playwrights Unit.

FOR PLAYWRIGHTS AND CREATORS

With our playwrights unit and commissions in progress, we are unable to accept unsolicited scripts. That said, please feel free to contact Ann if you have a work you feel might be a good fit for our programming. For local playwrights and creators, we would love to be aware of your work and to attend any productions of your work that are happening here in Winnipeg. Please email Ann to let us know what you have cooking.
