For Artists

At PTE, our goal is to be a home for artists. This happens in one of four ways:  working on projects here at the theatre; engaging in residencies; training through our professional development programs; and engaging with our artistic leadership and staff. It is our philosophy that in addition to employing artists, we can also have an open door (or email/phone) policy as a resource to artists. Thom (our AD) is open to receiving emails at any time and will respond as soon as we are able.

FOR ACTORS - AUDITIONS

We audition on a show by show basis.  We also see actors through general auditions.  Please check this website, our social media, along with the CAEA e-drive for audition calls.

Prairie Theatre Exchange is committed to inclusive casting. We encourage submissions from professional artists who self-identify as members of under-represented communities.

To submit, please send a headshot and resume to Matthew Paris-Irvine at matthew@pte.mb.ca. Prairie Theatre Exchange is committed to providing accommodation for persons with disabilities in all parts of the engagement process. FOR DIRECTORS AND DESIGNERS

If you would like to begin a conversation or introduce yourself to the theatre, please email Thom.

FOR PLAYWRIGHTS AND CREATORS

With our two playwrights units and commission in progress, we are unable to accept unsolicited scripts. That said, please feel free to contact Thom if you have a work you feel might be a good fit for our programming. For local playwrights and creators, we would love to be aware of your work and to attend any productions of your work that are happening here in Winnipeg. Please email Thom  to let us know what you have cooking.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

PTE's Training Hub offers an annual multi-week block of free professional development workshops, classes and talks.

We've been honoured to host dynamic instructors from both Winnipeg and other parts of the country, each of whom are asked what they would like to teach, share, or offer.

Opportunities to offer unique professional development workshops also appear throughout the year. PTE is pleased to be able to include these free one-off sessions as part of the PTE Training Hub programming.
