A devised theatre intensive aimed to inspire and enable participants to create new, innovative and collaborative performance. Taught by One Trunk Theatre's artistic leadership this course is centered around ensemble and community building- leading participants through a group creation process including ensemble work, design, movement and writing tasks

Before the Class: You will receive an email a week before we begin with the source material and instructions to complete and to submit a human bio prior to the first class, as well as reviewing classmates' submissions.


ABOUT THE FACILITATORS

Gwendolyn Collins (she/her) is an actor and devised theatre and film artist based on Treaty 1 Territory in Winnipeg, Manitoba. She is the Co-Artistic Producer of One Trunk Theatre and a frequent collaborator of the company. She has performed at Royal Manitoba Theatre Centre as Alice in Alice Through the Looking Glass, and in Penelopiad. She has performed in multiple shows for Winnipeg Jewish Theatre, Prairie Theatre Exchange and Manitoba Theatre for Young People. She has extensive touring experience having travelled the province in PTE Munsch tours, Greenkids shows, the RMTC rural tour and for MTYP. She is a graduate of The University of Winnipeg’s BA Honours program in theatre, and has trained with Ghost River Theatre in Calgary.
 

Tanner Manson (he/him) is a queer artist specializing in devised performance creation, physical theatre & playwriting. He grew up in rural Manitoba and currently resides in Winnipeg, Treaty 1 Territory. Ever-curious about how to beautifully & hilariously explore big questions about our tiny world; he is passionate about nurturing relationships & long term collaboration while also creating new & exciting work. He does a little bit of everything and loves everything a lot- from performing, to collective creation, to producing, to dancing, to constructing sets, to constructing scripts.

Tanner has worked with One Trunk in countless ways over the years as an artist, administrator, board member & more and loves creating with that “One Trunk” Magic. He is also the co-founder of the award-winning Walk&Talk Theatre Company.
 

Andraea Sartison is a devised theatre artist and event producer. She is known for boldly creative performance concepts, interdisciplinary collaboration, and curating large scale public art events and festivals. Andraea has traveled internationally as a performer and director of new Canadian plays, from the Canadian fringe circuit to Broadway, New York; but, her favourite work has unfolded through collaboration with other amazing artists who call our "One Great City" home.

She is the founding Artistic Producer of One Trunk Theatre, and Co-Owner of Event Production and Arts Consultation Company Fête Jockey (with Jennie O). And a mom.
