Aimed at artists with zero to almost-zero experience working in Microsoft Excel, this course will cover the basics of how to use this program. Useful for building production calendars, schedules, critical paths for project management, budgets, and/or revenue projections, excel is a must-know for any artist building their own business, producer, production manager, or arts administrator. 

Preparation: A computer with Microsoft Excel


About Lisa Li

Lisa Li (she/her) is a theatre producer and arts manager with progressive 10+ years of experience managing and overseeing a breadth of programming, budgets, and contracts/agreements. Work includes small and large-scale theatrical productions, musicals, concerts, festivals (dance, music, improvisation, literary, family/TYA), tours, cabaret, site specific work, and digital creations.

From 2016-2020, she was a Producer with Soulpepper Theatre Company where she was responsible for all Soulpepper-produced mainstage productions and live concert programming. She produced 65+ theatrical productions and concerts for Soulpepper in her four-year period. She was the producer on "Soulpepper on 42nd Street", Soulpepper’s month-long residency at New York City’s Signature Theatre, July 2017. Programming for "Soulpepper on 42nd Street" featured 7 full-scale productions, 2 presentations, 3 concerts, a daily cabaret, and various ancillary events.

Occasionally, Lisa Li works in Toronto’s independent theatre community as a producer and consultant. Lisa Li has worked with the Shaw Festival, Ontario Arts Council, Toronto Arts Council, and is on the faculty of Sheridan College where she teaches the business side of theatre.

Lisa Li is the board Chair of ARC and is a board member of the Professional Association of Canadian Theatres where she is the Director of the Labour Relations Committee.  Since April 2021, she has been the Managing Director of Prairie Theatre Exchange.
