Virtual Wine Tasting Wednesday

Wednesday, November 4, 7pm

We may not be able to gather together in person, but we can still enjoy good wine together over Zoom! Our friends at Kenaston Wine Market are planning four easy-to-find foods that you may already have around the house, and selecting two different wines at a discounted price. Thom and Marlies will be exploring how the same wine can taste completely different when paired with different food.

The Wines ($33.95 for both bottles)
Adega Monte Branco ‘Alento’ - a white wine blend of traditional Portuguese varietals, dry with a rich mouth feel;

Charles Cimicky Piping Shrike Shiraz from Barossa Valley - a full-bodied red with layers of flavour.

You must register for this event, as well as arrange for your wine, and you'll receive tasting notes for easily accessible food samples.

>> Register (limited capacity)

>> Order your wine

NOTE: You can join us even if you don't purchase the wine!

Katharsis 2020

by Yvette Nolan (A Free Digital Presentation)
October 29 - November 15, 2020
A love letter to the empty theatre

Warriors returning from battle
used to have to go through purification rituals
before they could rejoin their communities.
What ceremony will allow us to gather again?

A specially commissioned short play, created for and filmed in our empty theatre, Katharsis is a marking of this period when our theatre is in waiting.

Featuring: Tracey Nepinak

From the playwright:
I am a theatre rat, not a filmmaker. But the opportunity to write for an actor, in a theatre, and then have that story transmitted to the world through another medium, is enough of a lifeline to keep me connected.

We have always used the theatre to work things out, together. Even though we are not in the same physical space, we can come to together in the virtual space, and watch the actor in the physical space, and perhaps begin to work out some of these recent events that have separated us from each other.

The run of Katharsis has ended.
