The what, the wear & the when
If this is the first time you’ve been to PTE, here’s the cheat sheet (we won’t tell anyone you’re not a seasoned theatre-goer).

What to wear, what to wear...
Deciding what to wear can difficult at the best of times. Luckily, there’s no pressure to look any particular way at PTE! The beautiful thing about the arts community is the unwavering acceptance of everyone and anyone. Jeans and a t-shirt? Totally fine. All black and a turtleneck? Snaps to you. Want to make an evening out at theatre a bit of an occasion? A good rule of thumb is dressing for a nice dinner. Maybe even get a nice dinner beforehand while you’re at it. Just keep in mind that the theatre gets a little cool, so bring a sweater or shawl to keep you warm.

Chilling in the lobby lounge
Theatre is an experience, so come a little early to soak in our sleek lobby, lounge included. Have a glass of wine, try a local beer, and take a peek at our displays. No rush to finish that drink, just pour it into plastic and bring it into the theatre. Consider ordering a second drink, as some playshave no intermission! And remember - your 30 Below ticket comes with a discount coupon for one $5 beverage.

Parking
Since many of our shows run during actual 30 below weather, parking is naturally an issue of the utmost importance. Heated underground parking (AKA your car will for sure start afterwards) is right under Portage Place, accessible from either Vaughan or Carlton and only $8 for the evening after 5 pm (pay for parking at one of the machines near the elevators before heading upstairs - note that only elevator 6 goes all the way up to the PTE on the 3rd floor).

If the Jets are playing that day, you'll get a Coupon Code to discount your parking from $15 to $8. That will be emailed to you separately closer to the performance date.

Street parking is available on all sides of Portage Place as well. We are also close to major bus routes. Just be sure to take the elevator across from the Starbucks and the clock tower. Other elevators will take you to parts of the 3rd floor that are not connected to us.
